Central Waterfront, Seattle

The Space Needle, in the center of the photo, stands 605 feet (184m) tall and is fastened to the ground with 72 bolts, each 30 feet (9m) in length. At one point in time there were plans to build a stork’s nest atop the tower… until it was discovered that the storks would only leave the Space Needle and migrate south to a warmer climate.

Very cool – that’s a different angle of the Seattle skyline than I’m used to seeing. I get bored with seeing the same old shots of Seattle over and over again. It looks like a neat place to visit; I hope I can see it someday. I’m on the opposite coast.
