Home Stretch

This HDR photo is of the Riverdale stairs at 238th street. There are eight flights, and I climb them every day as I near the end of my walk home from the train station… I quite enjoy this forced hit of exercise, it’s definitely gotten easier with time! There are one hundred and twenty steps. You start to feel the burn a lot more if you add the weight of an extra bag or two. In the winter time when the steps get covered in snow it can become tough work getting up and down the stairs, when on occasion they become a ramp of ice and snow. Last year my pride took quite a beating when I fell down three flights in a row in the middle of a snow storm!
