The Black Hole

This shot was taken at the Court Street station in Brooklyn, New York. What I like about is all the lines lead to the black hole at the back of the image. The station itself is rundown and ugly. As you can see the white tiles are now all stained with brown and yellow marks, and the metal is rusted and chipped. Taking this photo was definitely an interesting couple of minutes of shooting! At the time I was with my parents and girlfriend. When they turned around I leaned out over the tracks as far as I could and viewing the LCD screen from afar I was able to fire off about 9 shots of the scene. Unfortunately at the last minute everyone turned around and saw me and a few gasps of shock were let out. Never fear, though- I made sure no trains were coming at the time … it’s usually like that at 11pm!
